Health Guarantee

At Premium Weimaraners USA, we take every step to ensure that your new puppy is healthy, well-raised, and ready to join your family. Our health standards align with veterinary best practices and reputable breeding guidelines.

This Health Guarantee explains what is included with your puppy, what is covered, and how the agreement works.

Veterinary Exam & Health Certification

Before going home, every puppy receives:

  • A full physical veterinary examination

  • Up-to-date core vaccinations

  • Deworming based on age schedule

  • A signed Health Certificate from a licensed USDA-approved veterinarian

This certificate confirms the puppy is in good health at the time of release.
You can also review more about veterinary expectations for puppies at the American Veterinary Medical Association website.

72-Hour Examination Requirement

To activate this guarantee, buyers must have the puppy examined by a licensed veterinarian within 72 hours of pick-up or delivery.

If an exam is not completed within this timeframe, the health guarantee becomes void. This step is standard industry practice and protects both parties.

If the veterinarian finds a serious health condition (not caused by injury, neglect, parasites, or stress-related adjustment), you must notify us in writing within 72 hours, including veterinary documentation.

Genetic Health Guarantee — 1 Year

We guarantee against life-threatening hereditary or congenital conditions for one year from the date of adoption. Covered genetic issues include, but are not limited to:

  • Severe hip dysplasia

  • Heart defects

  • Severe hereditary neurological disorders

  • Organ abnormalities confirmed as congenital

Non-life-threatening, manageable, or cosmetic conditions (such as mild hip laxity, underbite, undescended testicles, umbilical hernia, allergies, or minor infections) are not covered, as they do not affect quality of life or vary based on growth.

You can learn more about breed-specific genetics on the Weimaraner Club of America resource section.

What Happens if a Covered Condition Is Confirmed

If a licensed veterinarian and a second independent veterinarian confirm a covered hereditary condition, one of the following will be offered:

  • Replacement puppy of equal value (when available), OR

  • A partial refund is determined by diagnosis and severity

Refunds do not exceed the original purchase price.

We do not require the puppy to be returned. However, if the buyer chooses to return the puppy, all registration and ownership documents must also be transferred back to the breeder.

Conditions Not Covered

The following are not covered under this guarantee:

  • Stress-related symptoms (diarrhea, colds, kennel cough)

  • Parasites (roundworm, hookworm, Giardia, coccidia)

  • Hypoglycemia

  • Behavior or temperament issues

  • Injury or illness resulting from neglect, accident, or improper care

  • Failure to follow the recommended feeding or vaccination schedule

Owner Responsibilities

To maintain the health guarantee, the buyer agrees to:

  • Provide routine veterinary care

  • Keep vaccinations current

  • Maintain parasite prevention

  • Feed high-quality nutrition appropriate for large-breed puppies

  • Avoid extreme exercise before bone growth plates close
